Softball Recap: Zoee Brummett Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cedar Creek

Jarrell won against Life Waxahachie on Saturday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Jarrell Cougars never let the Cedar Creek Eagles get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Abby Berrios made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jarrell got a big performance out of Zoee Brummett, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Brummett has posted over her last four contests. Maliyah Teinert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Jarrell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in six consecutive matchups.

Jarrell's victory bumped their record up to 3-11-2. As for Cedar Creek, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Jarrell has already played their next game, a 15-4 defeat against Burnet on the 4th. As for Cedar Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-1 loss against Bastrop on the 4th.
