Softball Recap: Hueytown Comes Up Short

Hueytown has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.93 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to the Helena Huskies. The shutout was out of character for the Golden Gophers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Hueytown's defeat dropped their record down to 25-14-1. As for Helena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 30-14-2 record this season.

Hueytown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against Chilton County on the 8th. As for Helena, they have also already played their next game, an 8-3 defeat against Brookwood on the 8th.
