Softball Recap: Bigelow Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Bigelow waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 21-3 margin over the White County Central Bears. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.

Briley Starks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Bryn Weaver was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mattie Langston, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Bigelow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bigelow pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for White County Central, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bigelow will head out to challenge Perryville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for White County Central, they will face off against Conway Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. White County Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
