Baseball Game Preview: Sunlake Seahawks vs. Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds

The Sunlake Seahawks will challenge the Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Sunlake will be strutting in after a victory while Holy Ghost Prep will be coming in after a loss.

Sunlake's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Anclote as Sunlake made off with a 9-0 win. The Seahawks haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Josh Rogerson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sunlake saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Anthony, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Anthony also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Jacob Johnson was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Holy Ghost Prep kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 7-3 to DePaul College Prep. The Firebirds' defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Sunlake now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Holy Ghost Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
