Basketball Game Preview: Timberline Blazers vs. Yelm Tornados

Timberline and Yelm are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Timberline Blazers will face off against the Yelm Tornados at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Timberline ended up a good deal behind Lincoln and lost 53-37.

Meanwhile, Yelm was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were beaten by Bonney Lake 77-32. While losing is never fun, the Tornados can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Panthers are ranked 78th).

Yelm's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Timberline, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Timberline didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Yelm in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Timberline since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
