Soccer Recap: Barbour County Takes a Loss

Barbour County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-0 to the Houston Academy Raiders. While losing is never fun, Barbour County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Houston Academy are ranked 88th).

Barbour County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-1. As for Houston Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barbour County will challenge Long at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Barbour County will be up against Long's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.33 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Houston Academy, they will square off against Highland Home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Houston Academy are facing Highland Home at the right time seeing as Highland Home are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
