Baseball Recap: Hubbertville Finds Playoff Glory Versus Coosa Christian

With a playoff win on the line, Hubbertville rose to the challenge on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Coosa Christian Conquerors. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Cruz Kizzire made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Kizzire was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Hubbertville let Cole Brand and Tucker Bowen run wild. Brand went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Bowen went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Carter Brand, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Hubbertville is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Coosa Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.

As of now, neither Hubbertville nor the Conquerors have any future games scheduled.
