Baseball Recap: St. John's Gets the Win

St. John got themselves on the board against Green Sea Floyds on Saturday, but Green Sea Floyds never followed suit. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 5-0. This was a revenge game for the Islanders: when they faced off against the Trojans on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Will Shelton was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Robert Grant was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Antonio Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

St. John's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Green Sea Floyds, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

As of now, neither St. John's nor Green Sea Floyds have any future games scheduled.
