In other batting news, Tessa Kemmerer was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Sophia Gunning was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Salisbury Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catasauqua only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, Saucon Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-1 to Pen Argyl.
Saucon Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Ash, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run was Ash's first of the season.
Salisbury Township's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-6-1. As for Saucon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Saucon Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Salisbury Township has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Saucon Valley, though, as they've only averaged .286. Will they be able to contain Salisbury Township's hitters?
