Softball Recap: Tuslaw Gets the Win

While Tuslaw's win against Washington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Tigers on Thursday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Tuslaw let Hadley Porter and Kaydence Chapman run wild. Porter went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Chapman went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Porter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eiley Bolgiano, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI.

Tuslaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tuslaw's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Looking ahead, Tuslaw will face off against Mogadore at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Washington, they will square off against Louisville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
