Basketball Recap: Lillian Carrillo Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Wilkes, Alleghany was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the North Stokes Vikings 37-34. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-41 two weeks ago.

Alleghany's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lillian Carrillo, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Layla Turner was another key player, putting up eight points.

Alleghany's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for North Stokes, they dropped their record down to 12-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alleghany will welcome East Wilkes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Stokes has already played their next match (against Mount Airy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
