Softball Recap: Huntingdon Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chestnut Ridge, Huntingdon was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Central Dragons a 4-0 shutout. For the Bearcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Dragons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Alivia Nicklow made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

Huntingdon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Huntingdon will take on Juniata Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Bedford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
