Basketball Game Preview: Warren Central Warriors vs. Jeffersonville Red Devils

The Warren Central Warriors will face off against the Jeffersonville Red Devils at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Warren Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

Two weeks ago, Warren Central came up short against Lawrence North and fell 57-45. The Warriors have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Shantel Shockley, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Denaijah Jacobs, who earned 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Jeffersonville suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Thursday. They took a blow against Brownsburg, falling 83-56. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Bulldogs are ranked eighth).

Jeffersonville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Warren Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Everything went Warren Central's way against Jeffersonville when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Warren Central made off with a 54-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warren Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
