Baseball Recap: North Branch Beats Holly for Their Fourth Straight Win

North Branch came out on top against Holly on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Broncos walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Bronchos. Winning may never get old, but the Broncos sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Drake Dorner and Elijah Mitchell did most of the damage at the plate: Dorner went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Mitchell went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Dorner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Hunt, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

North Branch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North Branch's win bumped their record up to 9-3-1. As for Holly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Branch will host Armada at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holly, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Fenton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
