Football Recap: Pioneer Falls Short of Boerne in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Pioneer and Boerne squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Pioneer had to settle for second. They came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 42-17. While losing is never fun, the Diamondbacks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 81st).

Despite the loss, Pioneer still got an impressive performance from William Goodloe, who picked up 42 receiving yards and one TD, and also threw for 64 yards and one touchdown.

Grant Sweeney produced another solid effort throwing for 280 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in one rushing score for Boerne.

Pioneer has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Boerne, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

As of now, neither Pioneer nor the Greyhounds have any future games scheduled.
