Soccer Game Preview: Taft vs. Amundsen

The Taft Eagles will head out to face off against the Amundsen Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

While Taft's win against Westinghouse wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a goal and slipped past the Warriors 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for Taft as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Amundsen walked away with it. They never let the Sun Warriors get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Tuesday.

Amundsen's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five games. As for Taft, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.

Taft came up short against Amundsen when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
