Soccer Game Preview: London vs. Canyon Lake

The London Pirates will take on Canyon Lake on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

London is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand IDEA Robindale an 11-0 shutout. Given London's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while IDEA Robindale are ranked 740th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, the contest between Canyon Lake and Floresville was close at halftime, but Canyon Lake turned on the heat in the second half with three goals. Canyon Lake blew past Floresville 5-1 on Tuesday. Canyon Lake hasn't had any issues with Floresville recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Canyon Lake hit Floresville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Avery Norris (2), Abigail Lowth, Isabella Biasatti, and Savanna Oberholtzer.

The victory made it two in a row for London and bumps their season record up to 22-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those two matches. As for Canyon Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6-3.
