Softball Recap: Gaylord Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Gaylord entered their tilt with Garber on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dukes a 2-0 shutout. The Blue Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dukes, too.

Nora Bethuy made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Bethuy was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Kennedy Wangler was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Gaylord's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Garber, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Gaylord has already played their next contest, an 11-4 win against Portage Central on the 17th. As for Garber, they will welcome Pinconning at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
