Soccer Game Preview: Summerville vs. Hilmar

The Summerville Bears will square off against the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summerville knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Hilmar likes a good challenge.

Summerville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Colfax with a sharp 5-1 win. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Hilmar had just enough and edged Linden out 2-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Summerville pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those five games. As for Hilmar, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Everything went Summerville's way against Hilmar in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Summerville made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Summerville since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
