Winters dropped down to 14-13 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Durham Trojans by a score of 14-12. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-2 defeat two weeks ago.

Aidan Baylor was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Winters is 6-2 when Baylor posts two or more runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jordan Calvert, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
As for Durham, they pushed their record up to 25-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games.
On Durham's side, RHETT RABO made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. RABO has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on BREVAN RING, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winters will square off against Paradise at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.18 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Durham, they will face off against East Nicolaus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
