Softball Recap: Whippany Park Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

Whippany Park barely beat Madison the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Dodgers with a sharp 12-2 win on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Kiera Swartz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Swartz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Julia Beers was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Jaeden Antonelli was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5.

Whippany Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Whippany Park pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8.8 runs thus far. As for Madison, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Whippany Park will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Morris Catholic at 4:00 p.m. As for Madison, they will face off against Morris County Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
