Basketball Recap: Aiken Picks Up Tenth Straight Win on the Road

Aiken is still undefeated this season after their contest against Woodford County on Saturday, but Woodford County came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Aiken Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Woodford County Yellowjackets 66-64. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Ohio, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 28th in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aiken's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Burnett Jr. led the charge by going 9 of 16 en route to 19 points along with six boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Arnold, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 18 points.

Aiken smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.
