Softball Recap: West Davidson's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It was a good run, but West Davidson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Davidson Black Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

West Davidson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Michael, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

West Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for North Davidson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Davidson will take on South Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for North Davidson, they will square off against Montgomery Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
