Valley hadn't done well against Southern recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Vikings enjoyed a cozy 28-12 win over the Trojans. The victory was just business as usual for the Vikings, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lonzell Parks out in front who picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving touchdowns Parks has posted since back in September of 2024. Jordin Thompkins made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Valley's defense and their eight sacks. Joshua Vaughn led the group effort, picking up four of those sacks all by himself. Jordan Keith is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Valley received some extra help from Vaughn, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Valley's record is now 3-0. As for Southern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-16 victory against Butler on the 12th. As for Southern, they have also already played their next game, an 18-7 defeat against Seneca on the 12th.
