Softball Recap: South Fork Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Fork walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sebastian River Sharks a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give the Bulldogs' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Not much got past Mackenzie Brown, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Sebastian River off the board. Brown has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rachel Kramer, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

South Fork's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Sebastian River, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-11 record.

Coming up, South Fork will take on St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. Sebastian River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
