Basketball Recap: Cranbrook Kingswood Piles Up the Points Against Pontiac

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marian, Cranbrook Kingswood was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Pontiac Phoenix 60-26. The Cranes not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024.

Leading Cranbrook Kingswood to victory were Madeline Day and Roxie Norton. Day dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists, while Norton shot 75% from the field to rack up 13 points. The dominant performance gave Day a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Tang, who posted six points and five boards.

Cranbrook Kingswood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Pontiac lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Germani Hall, who scored ten points. That was a full 38.5% of Pontiac's points, marking the 11th time in a row Hall has earned more than a third of the team's points. Chrisah Ratcliff was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cranbrook Kingswood's record is now 6-14. As for Pontiac, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Cranbrook Kingswood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-27 defeat against Detroit Country Day on the 5th. Pontiac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
