Recap: Boone Braves vs. Edgewater Eagles
The Boone Braves waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 45-36 win over Edgewater. Given Boone's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Edgewater is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boone to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mckenna Murphy, who scored 16 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria DelaCruz, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Boone's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. As for Edgewater, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Boone will take on Harmony at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edgewater, they will head out on the road to challenge Ocoee at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ocoee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
