Basketball Preview: Merritt Island Mustangs vs. Faith Christian Lions
The Merritt Island Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Faith Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Merritt Island focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Merritt Island was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Bayside.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Braeden Rouleau, who went 7 for 12 en route to 19 points plus seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Brandes, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian came up short against Harmony on Friday and fell 48-35. The Lions were down 40-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Merritt Island's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Faith Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.
