Sandburg faced Lyons in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles skirted past the Lions 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Their offense was headlined by JT Snider and Jeremiah Aro, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Easton Donausky and his 31 assists. Finally, Will Ashum kept Sandburg's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Sandburg's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Lyons, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-7.

Sandburg has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Brother Rice on the 10th. As for Lyons, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenbard West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
