Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Ellsworth's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Ellsworth got themselves on the board against Mount Desert Island on Friday, but Mount Desert Island never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 7-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Ellsworth's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mya Schildroth, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ellsworth has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Mount Desert Island, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Mount Desert Island has already played their next match (against Presque Isle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ellsworth will be paying especially close attention to the Trojans' contest: after the Trojans face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on Ellsworth again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
