For the first time this season, Huss will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Ashbrook Greenwave at 5:30 p.m. Huss knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Ashbrook likes a good challenge.
Huss is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Harding University: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Huskies blew the Rams out of the water with a 76-30 final score. With the Huskies ahead 41-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Huss to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shemiah McCoy, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 assists. McCoy is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was SaRyah McCorkle, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds.
Huss smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 19 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Ashbrook played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by North Lincoln and fell 52-14. The Greenwave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-4.
Huss will need to focus on slowing down Nicole Cherry, one of several Ashbrook players who made an impact when they last played. She posted three points and six boards.
Huss' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Ashbrook, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Huss hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64 points per game. It's a different story for Ashbrook, though, as they've been averaging only 27.2 points. The only thing between Huss and another offensive beatdown is the Greenwave. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Huss came up short against Ashbrook in their previous meeting back in February, falling 47-39. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
