Basketball Recap: Jonesboro Takes a Loss

Jonesboro and Northside squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Jonesboro had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 55-23 loss at the hands of the Northside Grizzlies. The Hurricane just can't catch a break and have now endured nine defeats in a row.

Leading Northside to victory were Erianna Gooden and Hazley Grotjohn. Gooden posted 12 points in addition to seven steals and six boards, while Grotjohn put up 13 points and five rebounds. That's the most steals Gooden has posted since back in February of 2024. Kaydence Flemming was another key player, putting up four points.

Jonesboro's loss dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Northside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Jonesboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northside, they have already played their next contest, a 47-35 win against Central on the 7th.
