Soccer Game Preview: Lamar vs. South Grand Prairie

Lamar is 1-8 against South Grand Prairie since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lamar Vikings will venture away from home to take on the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Lamar will be strutting in after a victory while South Grand Prairie will be coming in after a loss.

Lamar is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Haltom onto the board and left with a 9-0 win on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for South Grand Prairie's offense. They fell just short of Arlington by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Colts: they've now lost four in a row.

South Grand Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-2. As for Lamar, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-2.

Lamar beat South Grand Prairie 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Lamar repeat their success, or does South Grand Prairie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
