Softball Game Preview: Magnolia Panthers vs. Camden Fairview Cardinals

For the second straight game, Magnolia will face off against Camden Fairview. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Magnolia took on Camden Fairview on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Cardinals 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kloey Basinger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Rayleigh Herron was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and five RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Sophie Smith was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Magnolia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.

Magnolia's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-6. As for Camden Fairview, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-16.
