Volleyball Recap: Dobie Longhorns vs. Dawson Eagles

Dobie lost against Dawson back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Longhorns lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Dobie was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Dawson's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-12, 25-17.

Jordan Johnson paced Dobie's offense, picking up seven kills. Johnson were helped by Lindsey Perrett and Riese Rackley, who contributed four assists each. Finally, Johnson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Dawson was led to victory by Isabella Tijerina and Jenna Thedford. Tijerina had 12 digs, while Thedford had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Thedford has posted over her last six contests.

Dobie's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Dawson, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 29-4.
