There's no place like home for Cape Coral, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They put the hurt on the Gateway Eagles with a sharp 11-4 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Seahawks, who have now won 13 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Emma Brannan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brielle Pachick, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Allie Buice was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Cape Coral's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Gateway, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Cape Coral will host Estero at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Seahawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Gateway, they will head out on the road to challenge Cypress Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
