Basketball Recap: Khalise Vidal and Sarah Jean Secure Win for Oak Ridge

Oak Ridge saw some tournament action on Saturday. They snuck past the Leesburg Yellow Jackets with a 61-57 victory.

Leading Oak Ridge to victory were Sarah Jean and Khalise Vidal. Jean dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards, while Vidal went 7 for 14 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Vidal is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 38 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaniya Dumas, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ariyana Hester, who scored 20 points. Alysya Smith was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Leesburg, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Oak Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leesburg, they will head out on the road to face off against South Lake at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
