Basketball Recap: Galesburg Takes a Loss

Galesburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 64-37 loss at the hands of the Marion Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Silver Streaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while the Wildcats are ranked 76th).

Kaden Rogowski was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 20 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals for Marion. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Simmons, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points.

Galesburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Marion, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Galesburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-33 win against Comer on the 27th. As for Marion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-52 loss against Rochester on the 27th.
