Volleyball Recap: Elysian Fields Comes Up Short

Elysian Fields was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rusk Eagles. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2018.

Elysian Fields' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Rusk, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Elysian Fields will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Ore City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rusk, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Grand Saline on the 16th.
