Silver Bluff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks.

Jaquel Holman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries for Blackville-Hilda. Holman's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Silver Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Blackville-Hilda, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Bluff will take on Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln County's defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so Silver Bluff's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Blackville-Hilda, they will head out on the road to face off against Denmark-Olar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
