Softball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Athens' Winning Streak

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Athens finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They came up short against the Sheridan Generals, falling 11-1. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Sheridan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sheridan, they will be playing at home against Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ironman/Ironladies have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
