Volleyball Game Preview: West Shores Wildcats vs. Holtville Vikings

After both having extra time off, the West Shores Wildcats and the Holtville Vikings will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Shores has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Holtville will come in with six straight wins.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats last Thursday. West Shores fell just short of Brawley by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Holtville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Brawley last Tuesday.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (101-93) Holtville actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-20, 13-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Holtville pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Shores, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

West Shores couldn't quite get it done against Holtville in their previous meeting on April 10th as they fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
