Softball Recap: Wellington-Napoleon Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Wednesday. Wellington-Napoleon took a 19-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kingsville. Wellington-Napoleon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kingsville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Wellington-Napoleon has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Kingsville, they moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Wellington-Napoleon and Kingsville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Tigers will challenge Northwest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (64 vs. 15). Meanwhile, Kingsville (ranked 86th) will meet Concordia (ranked fifth) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
