Volleyball Recap: Deshler Finds Home Court Redemption Against Franklin

There's no place like home for Deshler, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Franklin Flyers 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Flyers: they've now won eight in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Deshler got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-19.

Jessie Kayser paced Deshler's offense, picking up 16 kills. Kayser got some help from Molley Drohman and her 20 assists. Kayser was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Franklin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madilynn Trambly, who had 16 digs and three aces, and Regan Kahrs, who had 21 digs. Trambly has been hot, having also posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Deshler's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Franklin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Coincidentally, Deshler and Franklin will both be playing Kenesaw the next time they take the court. The Dragons will host the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Flyers will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
