Softball Game Preview: Southeast Pirates vs. Alliance Aviators

Southeast has gone a perfect 3-0 against Alliance recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates will take on the Aviators at 5:30 p.m. Southeast is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Southeast had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Brookfield on Monday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 14-7 win. Considering the Pirates have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Savannah Powell was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Morgan Muncy was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lylia Lavigna, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Alliance beat Minerva 4-1 on Monday.

Southeast's record now sits at 14-7. As for Alliance, their record is now 11-13.

Everything went Southeast's way against Alliance when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Southeast made off with a 14-5 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Aviators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
