Basketball Recap: Garfield Gets the Win

Garfield's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the North Vikings by a score of 61-53. Considering the Rams' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Despite the loss, North still got an impressive performance from Ce'Airah Underwood, who dropped a double-double with 42 points and 14 boards. That was a full 79.2% of the Vikings' points, marking the sixth time in a row Underwood has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Serenity Noel, who scored eight points in addition to ten rebounds and seven steals.

Garfield's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for North, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Meanwhile, North will take on rival Buchtel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Underwood and Myah Clark.
