Basketball Recap: Deon Clay's Big Game Can't Quite Lead River City over Vacaville

River City came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Vacaville Bulldogs by a score of 74-72 on Wednesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deon Clay, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Those 13 points gave Clay a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrone Orr, who posted 22 points.

River City's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Vacaville, their win bumped their record up to 2-15.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Wood the next time they take the court. Vacaville will head out to face Wood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while River City will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
