Basketball Recap: Fairfax Stampede vs. Central Bobcats
After flying high against Metro Tech last Friday, Fairfax came back down to earth. The Fairfax Stampede were dealt a 78-41 loss at the hands of the Central Bobcats on Monday. The Stampede have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Fairfax lost, don't look at Bryan Mathews. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Evans, who put up nine points.
Leading Central to victory were Grant Mattingly and Eric Butler. Mattingly went 11 of 16 on his way to 30 points and four steals, while Butler dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
