Football Recap: El Camino Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Omega Cruise and Noah Salazar

El Camino extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They lost 36-14 to the La Costa Canyon Mavericks. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.

Noah Salazar and Omega Cruise certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Salazar threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, while Cruise picked up 125 receiving yards.

As for La Costa Canyon, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Costa Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinn Roth, who threw for 268 yards and four TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Roth has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Lennox Marcucci also helped out as he racked up 100 receiving yards.

El Camino has already played their next game, a 17-14 loss against Del Norte on the 24th. As for La Costa Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 50-22 win against Carlsbad on the 24th.
