Baseball Recap: Evansville Reitz Panthers vs. North Posey Vikings        
        
		
            Evansville Reitz had lost five straight at home, but  on Saturday they dropped their record down to 8-14 to make it six. They came up short against  the North Posey Vikings, falling  9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  defeat the Panthers have suffered  since May 1st.
Evansville Reitz got a good showing from  Josiah Spanner, who   pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits.
 On the hitting side, Evansville Reitz saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Keegan Cape, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
As for North Posey, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-7. Considering they have won 11 matches by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
On North Posey's side,  Jed Galvin made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and only one walk). That's the most  strikeouts  Galvin has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and four  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Ethan Mansfield was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Colby Angel, who  went 1-for-3 with three  runs and one  double.
 Coincidentally, Evansville Reitz and North Posey will both be playing Evansville Memorial the next time they take the field. The Vikings will head out to face the Tigers at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday, while the Panthers will head out to face them  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
